Men and Family Relationships Service

This program provides counselling. education programs and community activities for men and their families, with the objective of strengthening family relationships and working with families through difficult times to ensure the well being and safety of children and family members. 

Issues addressed through the service include mental health, self-esteem, family violence, parenting, step-parenting, grief and loss and general relationship concern. 

The Men and Family Relationships Service work's closely with the community, including schools, workplaces and health and welfare services to deliver the programs. 

Some examples of community programs being delivered include: 

Baby Makes 3 

A joint initiative with the City of Ballarat for first time expecting parents, with the objective of providing support and equipping them with the coping skills to deal with a new child and the same time maintain healthy relationships. 

Yours, Mine, Ours 

A service that's aimed at parents and individuals living in a blended family situation. The program acknowledges the challenges and experiences of parenting in blended families and helps strengthen the family bond. 

During 2016-17 the program assisted more than 90 individuals and families work through their issues. 

Children's Contact Centre

The Cafs Ballarat Children's Contact Centre Service (BCCS) provides a safe, impartial and nurturing environment for children to maintain contact with a parent who is no longer living with them. The service aims to ensure the best interests of children are central to all activities and decisions are made in relation to contact with family members. 

Providing supervised visits and parent-child changeovers, the service operates seven days a week, with most visits and changeovers occurring on weekends.
